Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals

Overview

A fully-funded scholarship from the Swedish government (Ministry for Foreign Affairs), administered by the Swedish Institute, aimed at future leaders from priority countries who already have some professional experience. It covers full tuition, a monthly living allowance, travel grant, and insurance for one- or two-year master's programmes in Sweden.

Eligibility

• Citizen of one of the Swedish Institute's designated priority countries
• Admitted to a full-time master's programme at a Swedish university
• At least 3,000 hours (roughly two years) of relevant work or organisational experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Not currently residing in Sweden or an EU/EEA country at the time of application

Application Deadline

Two-step deadline: apply to your Master's programme via universityadmissions.se by mid-January, then submit the separate SI scholarship application in a window in mid-to-late February (e.g., 9-25 February) Always confirm exact dates on the official site before planning your application, since deadlines shift year to year.

How to Apply

1. Apply for up to four eligible Master's programmes via universityadmissions.se by the January deadline
2. Save the personal application number you receive after paying the application fee
3. Submit a separate SI Scholarship application during the designated February window, referencing your application number
4. Await university admission results (typically late March)
5. Await final SI scholarship results (typically late April)
