A joint DAAD-NRF scholarship supporting South African (and, under the wider In-Country/In-Region programme, other Sub-Saharan African) students to pursue a Master's or PhD in South Africa.
Funding
Full sponsorship including tuition fees, a stipend (up to about EUR 8,920/year), health insurance, and study/research allowances
Eligibility
- Open to South African citizens (and other Sub-Saharan African nationals under the wider In-Country/In-Region programme)
- Applying for a full-time Master's or PhD at a participating South African institution
- Must apply to preselected, development-related or SDG-oriented degree programmes
- Academic merit and a clear research/study plan required
