DAAD-NRF In-Country Scholarship

Overview

A joint DAAD-NRF scholarship supporting South African (and, under the wider In-Country/In-Region programme, other Sub-Saharan African) students to pursue a Master's or PhD in South Africa.

Funding

Full sponsorship including tuition fees, a stipend (up to about EUR 8,920/year), health insurance, and study/research allowances

Eligibility

• Open to South African citizens (and other Sub-Saharan African nationals under the wider In-Country/In-Region programme)
• Applying for a full-time Master's or PhD at a participating South African institution
• Must apply to preselected, development-related or SDG-oriented degree programmes
• Academic merit and a clear research/study plan required

2. Confirm your intended programme is on the preselected list of eligible degrees/institutions
