ANID National Postgraduate Scholarships (Doctorado/Magíster Nacional)

Overview

ANID, Chile's national research and development agency, funds doctoral and master's study at accredited Chilean universities through its national scholarship competitions. These awards are open to foreign applicants who hold permanent residency in Chile as well as Chilean citizens, providing a stipend to cover study and living costs during the program.

Funding

Annual maintenance/living allowance, an annual tuition/enrolment allowance, a dependent-child allowance (5% of the monthly stipend per child under 18), health coverage, plus complementary support for research stays abroad and thesis-writing extension

Eligibility

• Open to Chilean citizens and foreign nationals with permanent residency in Chile (not for students applying from abroad without residency)
• Admission to (or enrolment in) a CNA-accredited Master's or PhD program in Chile
• Academic record meeting ANID's competitive selection criteria
• Full-time dedication to the funded program required
• Apply through ANID's online application system during the annual call period (typically Nov–Jan)

How to Apply

1. Confirm you are enrolled in, admitted to, or applying to an accredited doctoral program (CNA-Chile accredited) as a Chilean citizen or foreign national (with or without permanent residency)

3. Register and complete the online application through the ANID application system
4. Submit transcripts, a research plan, and any required supporting documents
